Our industry-leading team implements solutions based on engineering, science, and economics that help our clients cost-effectively transform materials into renewable, low-carbon energy and fuels. We have implemented hundreds of projects for utilities, developers, conventional energy producers including oil and gas, and municipal clients. Our services span the entire project life cycle from concept development, planning, permitting, design, construction, and commissioning. Once projects are operational, we provide ongoing technical and compliance support, troubleshooting, and optimization support services.

Biogas and Landfill Gas

Tetra Tech supports our clients in producing biogas from various feedstock types, including municipal solid waste. We have successfully executed hundreds of anaerobic digestion projects of all types, spanning from feasibility studies, feedstock and waste characterization, and equipment selection to operation. Our industry-leading staff effectively transform biogas and landfill gas into renewable electricity and heat, and RNG and digester effluent into nutrient-rich fertilizers from all types of feedstock including:

Renewable Natural Gas

Tetra Tech’s expert team of planners, engineers, and specialists analyze RNG generation and utilization for a variety of project types. RNG is currently a critical component in decarbonization and a low carbon future. We provide full service to our customers, implementing various RNG process technologies from concept through commissioning and operation on more than 30 projects. We assist our clients in cost-effective execution of greenfield and brownfield projects in the following rapidly evolving marketplaces:

  • RNG to vehicles, pipelines, virtual pipelines, and utility connections
  • RNG offset fossil-based natural gas
  • Low Carbon Fuel Standards (LCFS) and Renewable Fuel Standards (RFS)
  • Implementation of all technologies, including BioCNG™ technology

Low Carbon Fuels and Sustainable Aviation Fuel

Tetra Tech specializes in developing cost-effective renewable fuel solutions that displace fossil fuels, lower carbon emissions, and provide climate change solutions. We support our clients in project development, design, construction management, permitting, commissioning, and optimization for the following:
