Tetra Tech uses Leading with Science® approaches that are grounded in science, best practices, and stakeholder needs to improve biodiversity conservation and restoration around the world.

Our technical experts implement nature-based solutions to meet international climate change goals and to reverse global biodiversity loss. Tetra Tech addresses the underlying drivers of biodiversity loss by identifying critical policy and governance factors at the local, national, and regional levels that strengthen the enabling environment for biodiversity conservation. Our technical experts use innovative technology and analytics to improve real-time data collection and monitoring to support enforcement and decision-making, including supply chain traceability and certification systems.

Improving 1 billion lives around the world

In 2021 Tetra Tech launched our 1 Billion People Challenge with the goal of improving the lives of 1 billion people around the world by 2030. Our biggest impact on the world is through the more than 80,000 projects we perform each year across more than 125 countries. We leverage decades of multidisciplinary expertise and technology-driven solutions to help communities address complex current and future challenges.

Our experts help solve challenges related to the clean energy transition, climate adaptation, carbon sequestration, water and biodiversity management, and food security. Tetra Tech aligns our project impact analysis with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and tracks the environmental, social, and governance benefits of the projects we perform for our clients using five key metrics:

  • Water management
  • Ecosystem and biodiversity management
  • Renewable energy development
  • Carbon avoidance or capture
  • Social and governance benefits

Tetra Tech’s holistic view of ecosystems and multidisciplinary approach to biodiversity conservation and restoration are carried through our work, providing solutions that are both feasible for our clients and sustainable for our future.
