Electrical and Controls Design
From drawings to real-world performance, Tetra Tech Digital Systems’ electrical and instrumentation and control (I&C) solutions ensure robust and maintainable systems.
Panel and motor control center (MCC) work begins with our team’s detailed design drawings, moves through fabrication at our partner panel shops, and finishes with factory acceptance testing (FAT) by our engineers before equipment reaches the field. For instrumentation, we handle the full scope, including datasheets, loop diagrams, and wiring documentation for pressure, temperature, flow, level, and analytical devices, along with procurement management from selection through on-site delivery. Once installed, calibration, loop checks, and acceptance testing confirm accuracy and set the stage for a clean commissioning.
We take the long view when it comes to vendor and product selection. Rather than comparing specifications and price alone, we consider what’s already installed, how familiar the client is with maintaining different types of equipment, and what third-party support is realistically available in their area. That same thinking guides hardware recommendations across programmable logic controllers (PLC), human machine interfaces (HMI), communications modules, and drives. It then extends to software, where historians, reporting tools, and artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled solutions support predictive maintenance, real-time monitoring, and long-term data analysis.
- Low-voltage panel and MCC design with drawing package and FAT
- Smart piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID), arc flash studies, and reliability analysis
- I&C standardized for consistency and scale
- Product and vendor selection that considers full lifecycle compatibility
