The Environment Business Journal (EBJ) recognized Tetra Tech’s outstanding Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Program in its 2023 Business Achievement Awards.
Tetra Tech received the EBJ Diversity & Inclusion Award for our work to support, engage, and advance staff at all levels of the firm through our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Council and eight global Employee Resource Groups (ERGs). These support company-wide goals of increasing employee diversity, fostering inclusivity, and supporting the professional and leadership development of employees from historically marginalized groups.
“Tetra Tech is committed to providing employees with a safe and inclusive work environment where they feel valued and respected,” said Sarah Watts, Chair, DEI Council. “Our DEI Program supports all employees to reach their full potential, and ERGs work closely with executive leadership to shape global DEI programming, training, recruitment, and retention across the business.”
In 2023 Tetra Tech expanded our ERG program with the launch of our disability-focused ERG, TetrAbility, and emerging professionals ERG, LEADR. The ERG program focuses on collaboration and intersectionality, with ERGs co-hosting intersectional events and running enhanced mentorship initiatives to facilitate career development and long-term retention for their communities. The DEI Council and ERGs also formed an award-winning collaboration with Tetra Tech’s Health & Safety Council to embed inclusion and diversity throughout its safety program.
During the year, the ERGs strengthened partnerships with the National Society of Black Engineers and the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, and the company joined Neurodiversity in Business, which supports the development of neuroinclusive workplaces.
Tetra Tech will accept this award, and a further four EBJ and Climate Change Business Journal (CCBJ) project merit and business achievement awards at the Environmental Industry Summit XXII held in San Diego, California, in April 2024.
