Employees from our team in Fiji exemplify Tetra Tech’s spirit of giving by supporting their local communities through fundraising and volunteering.

Tetra Tech is committed to positively contributing to the communities where we live and work. Our team working out of our Fiji office implements the Fiji Program Support Facility (the Facility) in addition to the Nauru and Tuvalu Education Programs (NATU) on behalf of the Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT). Our team has volunteered hundreds of hours, raised thousands of dollars, and supported sustainability initiatives to enhance the quality of life in Fiji, Nauru, and Tuvalu communities.

The Facility was established in 2017 to support Australia’s delivery of education, health, governance, and emergency preparedness and response programs in Fiji, as well as scholarship and education programs in Tuvalu. The activities implemented under the Facility integrate gender equality, social inclusion, climate resilience, and disaster risk reduction—all of which are consistent with Tetra Tech’s commitments to both diversity, equity, and inclusion and sustainability.

Our team’s dedication to Fiji’s communities resonates with Tetra Tech’s values, championing diversity, collaboration, and achievement. Through consistent community service, our staff extend their roles as active citizens beyond their professional responsibilities.

Promoting disability inclusion for children

Children with disabilities, as well as their caregivers and families, have more opportunity to thrive when they receive specialized care and support. In partnership with the Frank Hilton Organization, Tetra Tech’s Facility team volunteered more than 200 hours and raised FJD $6,000 for The Frank Hilton Amazing Wheelbarrow Race. The race is an annual fundraising event to bolster continued care for children and families who depend on the organization for critical services like healthcare, education, and residential care.

Supporting sustainable, green environments

As part of Fiji’s national green recovery plan, the Government of Fiji’s Ministry of Forestry is leading an ongoing campaign to expand and restore forests by planting 30 million trees in 15 years. Tetra Tech’s team actively participated in tree planting for three years in a row.

Our employees also played an integral role in facilitating a clean-up program at the Colonial War Memorial Hospital and its surrounding areas. In addition to creating a cleaner working environment for quality health care delivery, the effort raised awareness in the community about the importance of hospitals and medical services to save lives.
