Leslie L. Shoemaker, PhD

Dr. Shoemaker focuses on Tetra Tech’s enterprise growth strategy, technical differentiation, and the evolution of its services and operations to address emerging market opportunities.

Drawing on her extensive operational and technical experience, she works across the company to connect Tetra Tech’s Leading with Science® expertise with strategic growth opportunities, including the integration of advanced analytics, AI, and digital solutions into the company’s services. Dr. Shoemaker joined Tetra Tech in 1991 and has served in a range of senior leadership and operational roles, including Tetra Tech President, business group president, and water resources project manager. Her technical expertise is in the development of models and data analytics that leverage emerging technologies to improve the management of large-scale, complex watersheds. Since the inception of Tetra Tech’s sustainability program in 2010, Dr. Shoemaker has also served as Chief Sustainability Officer, leading the formation and evolution of the program.

Dr. Shoemaker holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from Hamilton College, a Master of Engineering from Cornell University, and a PhD in Agricultural Engineering from the University of Maryland. She was elected to the U.S. National Academy of Engineering in 2022.
