EU and UK GDPR – Article 27
Tetra Tech, Inc. and its subsidiaries (Tetra Tech) are committed to protecting the privacy and security of all personal information in accordance with applicable laws, such as the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the UK’s retained EU law version of the GDPR, pursuant to section 3 of the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018 (UK GDPR) (together the Data Protection Legislation).
In accordance with the Data Protection Legislation, all data subjects have the right to:
- Request access to their personal information (commonly known as a “data subject access request”). This enables data subjects to receive a copy of the personal information we hold about them and to check that we are lawfully processing it.
- Request correction of the personal information that we hold about them. This enables data subjects to have any incomplete or inaccurate information we hold about them corrected.
- Request erasure of their personal information. This enables data subjects to ask us to delete or remove personal information where there is no good reason for us continuing to process it. Data subjects also have the right to ask us to delete or remove their personal information where they have exercised their right to object to processing (see below).
- Object to processing of their personal information where we are relying on a legitimate interest (or those of a third party) and there is something about their particular situation which makes them want to object to processing on this ground. Data subjects also have the right to object where we are processing their personal information for direct marketing purposes.
- Request the restriction of processing of their personal information. This enables data subjects to ask us to suspend the processing of personal information about them, for example if they want us to establish its accuracy or the reason for processing it.
- Request the transfer of their personal information to another party.
If data subjects want to review, verify, correct or request erasure of their personal information, object to the processing of their personal data, or request that we transfer a copy of their personal information to another party, please contact the applicable UK or EU representative below, depending on where you are based.
“Article 27” Representatives
The extraterritorial application of the UK GDPR or the GDPR applies where there is processing of personal data of data subjects who are in the UK/EU in relation to: (a) the offering of goods or services in the UK/EU, or (b) the monitoring of their behaviour, insofar as it takes place within the UK/EU. If the controller or processor is not located in the UK/EU, then Article 27 of GDPR and UK GDPR require them to designate in writing a representative in the UK/EU, unless limited exceptions apply.
