How is Tetra Tech helping communities combat plastic pollution in our waste streams, water, and ecosystems?
Tetra Tech is helping communities combat plastic pollution by working with local governments to develop forward-looking, integrated solid waste management plans, assess current conditions through waste characterization studies, and support regulatory compliance and program implementation. This includes outreach and education campaigns to foster behavioral change.
By combatting plastic pollution, we are protecting human health and the environment and promoting sustainable materials and resource management.
We provide insightful data on waste stream composition that informs decision-making about how to manage the waste stream, track success, and conserve money and resources. Then we help communities incorporate multiple waste management techniques, including prevention, reduction, reuse, recycling, composting, and disposal.
We also include circular economy strategies to encourage sustainable product design, shift responsibility for end-of-life management of products from governments and consumers to producers, and support waste reduction, reuse, and recycling efforts.
