Tetra Tech carried out environmental and technical due diligence for a UK health supplement manufacturer, assessing contamination, compliance and latent liabilities.
We carried out pre-acquisition due diligence for an American client to establish any potential environmental, health and safety, environmental compliance or infrastructure liabilities of a UK health supplement, vitamins and mineral manufacturer.
Challenge
We were initially commissioned to provide a peer review of a third-party environmental assessment of the company’s operational site, with findings including potential liabilities and estimated costs provided in a letter report.
Following the peer review findings, we identified that a more robust assessment of the company’s operational compliance from an environmental and health and safety perspective was required. Given the nature of the transaction, timescales were also required to be expedited.
Solution
We assembled an expert team to undertake the client’s specific brief. This included:
- Reviewing the client data room including environment, health and safety (EHS) files; reviewing health and safety strategy and associated procedures, evidence of water, energy and packaging reduction programmes
- Reviewing evidence of fuel spill / leak prevention and monitoring and general health and safety management
- Assessing previous company locations and any potential liabilities
This was combined with a conference call with the company’s management team to discuss company procedures and request any documentation missing from the data room with a final review of the documentation provided. Once we received and interpreted the information, it was fed back to the client in a bespoke letter report.
