Tetra Tech is a global leader in the abatement and removal of explosive hazards in some of the world’s most challenging operating environments.

We deliver comprehensive weapons destruction support, from conventional munitions to chemical, biological, and radiological threats, both on land and in marine environments. Tetra Tech ISO-compliant procedures follow International Mine Action Standards (IMAS), with methods tailored to host-nation requirements to safely return land and infrastructure to productive use. Our global logistics networks ensure international teams are fully equipped with the right equipment, skills, tools, technology, and training for each project’s unique need.

Conventional Munitions and Explosives of Concern (MEC)

Tetra Tech self-performs all conventional MEC responses. We offer full-service support in locating, identifying, managing, and disposing military munitions and addressing munitions constituent contamination. Tetra Tech’s planning documents and field deliverables and reporting meet U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) guidance and rigorous ISO standards. We have not had a recordable injury on a DoD munitions response project since 2011, and there have been zero OSHA-recordable incidents involving explosives since 2016.

Tetra Tech offers comprehensive AGC services

Geophysics

As a Geophysical Classification Organization (GCO), Tetra Tech provides advanced geophysical classification (AGC) services in both prime and subcontractor roles.  Our quality system is accredited under the DoD AGC Accreditation Program (DAGCAP).  We offer comprehensive geophysical services for the spectrum of aerial, terrestrial, and marine projects.

Counter-Improvised Explosive Devices (Counter-IED)

Tetra Tech expert operators employ methods and technology to reduce risk by maximizing safety distances and minimizing time on device. Assets include remote-operated vehicles (ROVs), unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), mechanical heavy equipment, and K-9 assistance.

Humanitarian Mine Action (HMA)

Tetra Tech is skilled at landmine detection and safe clearance of critical infrastructure in complex, post-conflict environments to restore access for international aid, return of displaced populations, and country stabilization, health, peacebuilding, and development. All projects are delivered in coordination with local, national, and international stakeholders to prioritize munitions response areas while building sustainable, national capability and capacity to operate in accordance with IMAS.

Services include survey, clearance, and stockpile destruction of explosive hazards, as well as explosive ordnance risk education (EORE) and full-service training at all IMAS levels. Tetra Tech also provides technical advisory input to global standards as a member of the IMAS Review Board.
