Great Minds Think Differently
Some proverbs stand the test of time because they express universal truths. Others begin to feel outdated as the world changes. One familiar saying is “great minds think alike.”
But for us, this raises an important question: should great minds really think alike?
The idea suggests that intelligent people will largely reach the same conclusions. In reality, that kind of thinking can stifle creativity, reduce innovation, and limit the very Leading with Science® approach that defines how we work at Tetra Tech.
We therefore offer an alternative: Great Minds Think Differently
When we look at something differently to everybody else, we can see possibilities that others miss. A new perspective can reveal a better approach, a smarter solution, or an opportunity to add value that was hidden in plain sight. People who think differently often ask better questions, challenge outdated assumptions, and help move teams beyond “the way it has always been done.” That can be especially valuable when solving complex problems.
At the same time, seeing things differently can be a great catalyst for collaboration particularly when we pair our great minds with those of our clients. One viewpoint may not be the only answer, but when it is shared openly and respectfully, we help the whole team think more deeply.
So, continue to look closer at Tetra Tech. Because the minds shaping the future won’t all think alike.
