Tetra Tech consultants provided civil and structural engineering to the £57m Quarry Hill Campus, Leeds City College’s second major city centre development.

The 11-storey development is in the heart of the city’s cultural quarter, close by the West Yorkshire Playhouse and Northern Ballet Theatre. In addition to housing the college’s Creative and Digital Arts and Health and Social Sciences departments, it will also provide space for expansion of the Leeds College of Music.

This appointment builds on a portfolio of work we have completed for Leeds City College, including advising on land assets and achieving planning permissions for this site and other residential and educational developments around the city.

Designed by Ellis Williams Architects, the building is an architecturally striking structure of three tiered blocks that, once finished, will provide students with world-class facilities in a dynamic and contemporary learning environment.

We are very proud to have been involved with this exciting project from the outset and to now see our civil and structural design skills giving shape to a landmark new building, at the heart of Leeds’s growing cultural and educational quarter.
