Biological Monitoring

Tetra Tech provides UKAS-accredited biological monitoring and analysis to verify exposure controls and confirm that employees are not being exposed to harmful chemical levels. We perform blood and urine testing using metabolite markers and direct analyte measurements to produce clear, actionable results, and we support clients with compliant sampling containers and reporting.

All urinary results are creatinine-corrected to account for hydration, ensuring accurate interpretation against HSE EH40 biological guidance values. Our laboratory analyses cover a wide range of biomarkers, including lead (with haemoglobin and ZPP), metals, solvent metabolites (e.g., methylhippuric acid, mandelic acid, SPMA), isocyanate metabolites, PAH metabolites, and bromide/bromine metabolites.
