Sunriver Owners Association selected Tetra Tech to complete the initial project review, funds control and inspection services, property condition assessment, and completion commitment bid for the Sunriver Homeowners Aquatic and Recreation Center (SHARC) in Sunriver, Oregon. This 22-acre aquatic and meeting facility houses a year-round indoor aquatic and adult hot tub area. Summer aquatic features include an outdoor pool, lazy river, water slides, toddler pool, and sand play area. Amenities also include a cafe, picnic area, playground, basketball court, bocce ball court, winter tubing hill, and a pavilion.

The facility offers indoor meeting and event space and an outdoor amphitheater available to rent for small and large-scale business meetings and social and educational events.

Tetra Tech performed funds control and inspection services for SHARC. For funds control, our team reviewed the General Contractor’s Application for Payment and backup documentation to disburse funds in accordance with the application and progress inspection. Our team’s inspection included physically verifying period-to-date work complete throughout construction.

As part of the project, Tetra Tech helped resolve a multi-year issue with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, as the site had been used as a depository by the U.S. Army when Camp Roberts was demolished in the early 1960s. The buildings contained asbestos materials including pipe insulation, siding, and roofing. An earth cap was part of the original design by the architect and civil engineers. Tetra Tech proposed using a filter fabric on top of the contaminated area and under the clean fill to prevent future excavation of the contaminated area, helping our client find a solution that encapsulated the material and created a beneficial site for the community.
