Strengthening East Africa Energy Sector’s Public-Private Partnership Units
The Institute for Public-Private Partnerships, a Tetra Tech Company (IP3), delivered highly interactive online training for 31 energy sector stakeholders from 8 countries in the central and eastern region of Africa in support of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Power Africa East Africa Energy Program.
This four-year, $65 million project aims to expand affordable and reliable electricity services in East Africa to support development priorities, including inclusive economic growth, security, and improved health and education outcomes.
As a subcontractor to RTI International, Tetra Tech delivered 18 online training programs in the first half of 2021, encompassing more than 3,900 student learning hours. The education program covered a range of topics, including project finance, public-private partnership (PPP) screening and implementation, and advanced PPP project management practices.
Participants took part in live interactive webinars and self-paced activities with subject matter experts to develop increased capacity through the region. Tetra Tech delivered course content, including real-world case studies, focusing on the most relevant regional energy sector needs. Program management support and distribution were provided through our IP3 Learning System, which ensures learners can make the most out of their programs—even in areas with limited internet bandwidth.
