Lac Alfred 300-Megawatt Wind Farm
EDF Énergies Nouvelles is a green energy pioneer and market leader, with projects in varying stages of development and operation. The company has over 3,521 megawatts of installed wind capacity, with another 2,449 megawatts in construction.
Borea Construction awarded Tetra Tech the detailed engineering for the complete wind farm and the scope related to technical support during the construction phase of the project. The engineering work was executed in a fast track mode, requiring a rapid turnover from our team to meet construction deadlines. The work included designing a 315-kilovolt and 34.5 kilovolt substation, underground 34.5-kilovolt collection system, the wind turbine foundations, and all electrical studies. This substation has been designed for an additional 24 megawatts (MW) to include La Mitis community project, for a total power production of 324 MW. The wind turbines are by REpower MM82 and MM92 (2.05 MW).
