Five Manhattan West Office Building, New York

Tetra Tech’s High Performance Buildings Group provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection engineering for needed renovations of the Five Manhattan West office building in New York.

The 1.46 million-square-foot building required the replacement and relocation of existing HVAC equipment, replacement of the facade, alignment of the building louvers, renovation of the lobby, and other upgrades. The building services upgrades involved replacing the existing cooling tower and condenser water pumps, specifying where the new HVAC units were to be placed, and replacing existing radiators with new architectural fin tube radiation elements. A new Building Management System (BMS) was added per LEED requirements.
