Tetra Tech helped the City of Fort Wayne, Indiana, to identify feasible, economically attractive ways to reduce energy consumption and operating costs at its Water Pollution Control Plant (WPCP) by conducting an energy audit.

The audit process resulted in a report recommending implementable projects with estimates of achievable cost savings, necessary capital expenditures, and projected payback periods for recovering the investments proposed.

In addition to assessing facility buildings and associated mechanical equipment, Tetra Tech will use its unique capabilities to evaluate energy savings from process improvements including:

  • Treatment process mechanical, electrical, and controls equipment
  • WPCP secondary treatment process improvements
  • Enhanced biological phosphorus removal
  • Biogas for energy generation
