Tetra Tech is committed to supporting water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) services for communities around the world. Each year we partner with a charity organization to support communities in need around the world. At our virtual all-company meeting in November 2021, we announced our partnership with EWB Australia that is dedicated to changing lives by developing clean water solutions for communities in need.

Timor-Leste became a sovereign nation in 2002 and is one of the poorest countries in Asia. More than 70 percent of its rural population still lacks basic services, including access to clean drinking water and sanitation services. Many communities source water from springs or surface water that often is contaminated, causing illnesses and spreading waterborne diseases.

Our partnership with EWB Australia will work with communities to design, prototype, and test larger scale ceramic filtration units suitable for implementation in rural Timorese schools. The filters will be piloted in four to five schools, directly impacting up to 4,000 people.
