The Engineers Without Borders (EWB) Orange County Professionals chapter’s Honduras Water Project was awarded Tetra Tech’s 2013 Charity of the Year. Tetra Tech and EWB Orange County are working to provide clean, safe drinking water to the neighboring communities of Barrio Lempira and Colonia Lempira in Olancho, Honduras. This video reports on the project’s progress as of October 2014.

Through the creation of a 20,000-gallon elevated water storage tank and a water distribution system, approximately 330 residents in the two communities will receive safe, clean, running water in their homes for the first time. The goal is to create a lasting water system to benefit community members for years to come.

Since 2007, Tetra Tech and our staff have contributed thousands of volunteer hours and more than $550,000 to support Engineers Without Borders projects and programs.
