Critical Issues in Disaster Science and Management: A Dialogue Between Researchers and Practitioners
In this book, Tetra Tech’s Tony Subbio, CEM, MS, and the University of Delaware’s Joseph E. Trainor, PhD, bring together the views of more than twenty disaster researchers and professional emergency managers to explore a dozen issues in contemporary emergency management. Each peer-reviewed chapter presents an academic perspective, a practitioner perspective, and a collaborative “bridging the divide” section focused on consensus, conflict, future research needs, and practical implications. The volume provides many important insights on these issues and also explores the benefits and barriers to closer integration between emergency management practice and research.
