Tetra Tech actively supports small businesses by participating in mentor-protégé programs.

Tetra Tech has participated in a number of mentor-protégé programs sponsored by the U.S. Small Business Administration, U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), Federal Aviation Authority, U.S. Department of Energy, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), and U.S. Department of Homeland Security. These programs allow small businesses to compete more successfully for federal contracts and to grow their business and capabilities.

Through these programs, we have assisted businesses in developing their capabilities while gaining viable subcontractors to support our projects. Tetra Tech's involvement in mentor-protégé programs is an integral part of our procurement planning.

Our Protégé Firms

Tetra Tech's subcontracting program includes a Mentor-Protégé program, a clear indication of our commitment to develop and support small business concerns. We have participated in the DoD Mentor-Protégé program since its inception in the early 1990s. As a mentor, Tetra Tech provides technical, managerial, and business development training and support to numerous small businesses so that they in turn would be able to compete for projects and provide services as prime contractors.
