Tetra Tech Receives National Demolition Association Award
The National Demolition Association awarded Tetra Tech the 2014 Environmental Excellence Award for our Hunters Point Naval Shipyard (HPNS) Project. Tetra Tech has performed $300 million worth of remediation at this site since 2004, including the demolition of radiologically-impacted buildings and structures. The Environmental Excellence Award recognizes outstanding achievements in environmental improvements, community partnerships, health and safety concerns of workers, economic benefits for the local community, and innovative use of technology.
The project received this honor because it benefits the environment and serves as a model for how to achieve waste reductions and community improvements.
Safety is a critical component of Tetra Tech’s success at HPNS. As of March 2014, we achieved 1,948 consecutive days and 1,300,000 man-hours without a lost time incident. The project team also received Tetra Tech’s annual Excellence and Achievement Award for Safety Achievement in 2011.
We congratulate all of our employees whose hard work and dedication helped to earn this recognition.
