On March 9, 2016, Environmental Business Journal (EBJ) and Climate Change Business Journal (CCBJ) recognized select companies for achievements in the environmental and climate change industries at the Environmental Industry Summit in San Diego, California. Tetra Tech received three awards based on our work in 2015: EBJ’s Mergers and Acquisitions recognition and Technology Merit award, and CCBJ’s Project Merit award.

Tetra Tech received EBJ’s Mergers and Acquisitions recognition for two strategic acquisitions in 2015. Tetra Tech acquired Cornerstone Environmental Group, an environmental engineering and consulting firm focused on the U.S. solid waste market. The addition of Cornerstone enhances our ability to address clients’ needs related to new solid waste regulations. Tetra Tech also acquired Coffey International Limited, a world-class consulting and engineering firm headquartered in Sydney, Australia. The Coffey acquisition expands Tetra Tech’s geographic presence in Australia and Asia Pacific and provides a base for expanding Tetra Tech’s leading water and environmental services to support Australia’s infrastructure expansion. This acquisition positions Tetra Tech as the leading global consulting firm for international development.

EBJ selected Tetra Tech for a Technology Merit recognition for its pilot project using real-time controls to harvest stormwater in Los Angeles. Tetra Tech partnered with TreePeople and the Greater LA Water Collaborative to unveil an innovative, smart cistern system to optimize stormwater capture while also managing torrential El Niño rains. This project will aid future data-driven decision making that could fundamentally change the ways in which Los Angeles residents manage their water. Read more about the pilot project here.

CCBJ recognized Tetra Tech with a Project Merit award for our support of the U.S. Agency for International Development’s (USAID) Indonesia Forestry and Climate Support (IFACS) program. Through the IFACS program, Tetra Tech developed a scalable framework to serve as a model to significantly reduce Indonesia’s greenhouse gas emissions through conservation of carbon-rich forests and peatlands. Tetra Tech is honored to have been recognized by EBJ and CCBJ for our contributions to the environmental and climate change industries.
