Tetra Tech Offices are Supporting Their Local Communities For the Holidays
Tetra Tech offices around the world took time to spread holiday cheer by providing monetary and in-kind donations for those in need. From providing gifts for local children whose homes were destroyed by fire to creating care packages for deployed troops and providing holiday gifts for homeless and low income families, our employees are giving back to their local and global communities. Below are highlights from just a few of the giving campaigns conducted throughout the company.
Tetra Tech’s Bothell, Washington, office organizes an annual toy drive during the holiday season. This year their gifts benefited a local community action agency in King County—Hopelink. This organization serves homeless people; low income families, children, and seniors; and people with disabilities in their local area. Hopelink provides food banks and a staff of specialists who offer various support programs. Our employees donated approximately 80 toys to Hopelink’s Holiday Giving Rooms campaign, helping the organization meet its goal of serving 6,000 children.
Tetra Tech’s Power Africa Transactions and Reforms Program team donated gifts for the children at the Sunnyside Orphanage in Pretoria, South Africa. Our team, who have working to improve energy resource management in Africa, donated 30 gifts, ensuring that every child receives a present this year. The orphanage houses orphans and vulnerable children from ages 2 to 12 years old.
The Middletown, New York, office of Cornerstone Environmental, A Tetra Tech Company, participated in two giving campaigns this season. The group collected food items for their local Regional Economic Community Action Program (RECAP), which assembles Thanksgiving dinner baskets for families in Orange County, New York. Our office donated the full workings for a Thanksgiving meal including turkeys, quick breads, boxed stuffing, rice, gravy, potatoes, yams, cranberry sauce, and vegetables. In addition, our employees put together holiday care packages—more than 25 pounds worth of items—to send to deployed troops overseas.
Our Boynton Beach, Florida, office has participated in an annual food drive for the Community Caring Center of Greater Boynton Beach since 2009. The center provides assistance to local residents who are in need of food, shelter, and other services. Our Boynton Beach team outdid themselves and donated $865 for the center. The center’s relationships with local partners meant that our contribution could purchase nearly 2,080 pounds of nonperishables, fresh fruits, and vegetables and more than 715 pounds of turkey.
Tetra Tech’s Lafayette, California, office participated in a Christmas toy drive to benefit the children affected by the Valley Fire that burned in Lake County, California, during September 2015. The fire destroyed more than 1,900 structures and 76,000 acres of land and was ranked as the third most destructive wildfire in California history. To help make this holiday special for those affected by the fire, our Lafayette team donated toys for affected families.
Tetra Tech’s Breckenridge, Denver, Golden, and Longmont, Colorado, offices teamed up to collect toys for local children in need. The groups donated the toys to the Children’s Hospital Toy Run and the Marines’ Toys for Tots Drive. The offices collected more than $5,700-worth of toys for these organizations, and employees from the offices participated in the Children’s Hospital Toy Run on December 7, 2015. Tetra Tech employees worked hard to surpass last year’s collection of $4,200-worth of toys.
We are proud of all of our employees around the world who generously support their communities during the holidays and throughout the year by organizing and supporting giving campaigns for those in need.
