Chris Coleman is Tetra Tech’s September 2021 Project Manager of the Month
Project managers (PM) are the face of Tetra Tech to every client and are the people who ensure that our project work is done to the highest standards of quality and fiscal discipline. Tetra Tech CEO Dan Batrack honors those who work at the highest level of excellence with our PM of the Month award.
“His excellent work for the Municipality of Anchorage exemplifies his ability to manage multiple technical disciplines and bring the best resources of the company to a major infrastructure design project.”- Jill Hudkins, President of Tetra Tech’s Resilient and Sustainable Infrastructure Division
Chris Coleman is a senior PM, structural engineer, and discipline manager within Tetra Tech’s Resilient and Sustainable Infrastructure Division. He joined Tetra Tech in 2005—finding what he calls his dream job with the company—and is based in our Louisville, Kentucky, office. He has more than 20 years of consulting engineering experience and manages multidisciplinary teams to deliver large infrastructure projects, including municipal water and wastewater; solid waste; heavy industrial; federal, commercial, educational, and healthcare; and civil works.
Chris has a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and a Master of Engineering in Structural Engineering from the University of Louisville. He is a registered Professional Engineer in 18 states and has served in key project management, design management, and technical delivery roles for projects throughout the United States.
Chris has been the PM for the design of a new multimillion dollar solid waste transfer station facility for the Municipality of Anchorage’s solid waste utility since 2019. The multibuilding campus project required the collaboration of engineers and technical specialists across the company, working closely with the client in a virtual environment throughout the pandemic. The team was able to secure two additional projects for construction of a new maintenance and administration building and improvements to the leachate management system at the Anchorage Regional Landfill.
“Chris is an exceptional team member and collaborative leader who excels in all aspects of our business,” said Jill Hudkins, Tetra Tech’s Resilient and Sustainable Infrastructure Division leader. “Chris manages one of the largest and most profitable portfolios in our municipal water practice and goes above and beyond to develop and maintain new and existing client relationships. Chris is a graduate of Tetra Tech’s Leadership Academy and demonstrates agility in all that he does. His excellent work for the Municipality of Anchorage exemplifies his ability to manage multiple technical disciplines and bring the best resources of the company to a major infrastructure design project.”
Our clients recognize Chris as a proven PM, consistently exceeding their expectations, delivering projects on budget, and creating innovative ways for clients, stakeholders, and subcontractors to collaborate. From 3,800 miles away, Chris established a great rapport with clients. He used SharePoint to support seamless access to files for the whole project team and provide transparent project updates. He enabled real-time project visualization by linking to the building information model (BIM) where members could view the latest renderings in color using virtual reality goggles.
“Thank you very much for this recognition,” said Chris. “The success of the Anchorage projects and the impact it’s making within the community required the collaboration of various teams throughout Tetra Tech. It certainly took a village to make this project happen, so thank you to the team leaders for providing talented design professionals to support the project.”
Join us in congratulating Chris on receiving the September 2021 PM of the Month award.
