Modernizing Air Base Infrastructure to Accommodate New Aircraft in Nigeria
Tetra Tech provided engineering expertise to improve perimeter security, airfield infrastructure, and base facilities for the Nigerian Air Force.
The Nigerian government’s purchase of A-29 Super Tucano aircraft is driving the modernization and improving the capability of Nigerian Air Force facilities and infrastructure. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Europe District selected Tetra Tech to provide base improvements to enhance critical facilities, improve security, and strengthen operational efficiencies. Our designs achieve a minimum 25-year life span for all horizontal features and 50-year life span for vertical construction features.
Despite challenges of tight schedules for all three packages, the [Tetra Tech] team has done an excellent job providing the design packages on time for solicitation.
Contractor Performance Assessment Reporting System, November 2020
With designs complete, our team performed construction inspection activities in accordance with USACE quality assurance standards, assisted with system testing and commissioning, and provided on-the-job training for end users in anticipation of aircraft arrival.
