Tetra Tech defined two alternative routes, a diversion route and a route adjacent to the current railway, to be submitted to the National Authority of Environmental Licenses' (ANLA).

This DAA involved gathering primary and secondary information in areas directly and indirectly impacting the project. This information provided the comparison of each of the proposed alternatives in terms of technical, economic, and environmental perspectives based on analyzing the characterization of the physical, biotic, and socio-economic environments; identifying potential impacts in the project area and surrounding environment; defining mainly exclusion zones; and proposing environmental management and follow-up for the alternatives.

This project included the development of the following baseline components:

  • Geology and geomorphology
  • Hydrology
  • Soil
  • Hydrogeology
  • Climate
  • Noise
  • Vibrations
  • Landscape
  • Flora
  • Fauna
  • Aquatic ecosystems
