BHP Billiton North Yard Substation Project
The Nelson Point Port Operation is owned and operated by BHP Billiton Iron Ore, the world’s largest miner and a major exporter of iron ore.
Since 2008 Tetra Tech Proteus has delivered multiple studies and projects to improve the power distribution and infrastructure at the Nelson Point Port Operation. The work has ranged from pre-feasibility studies through to detailed design to replace a range of legacy equipment located onsite at the operation. Tetra Tech Proteus completed a pre-feasibility study and a definition-phase study for the construction of a new North Yard Substation.
The Nelson Point Port Operation is in Port Hedland, Western Australia, approximately 1,700 kilometers north of Perth.
