Tetra Tech offers a full range of professional services related to groundwater contaminant characterization and remediation. We have more than 40 years of experience in the groundwater field and house one of the largest, most experienced pools of modelers in the industry. Our extensive groundwater knowledge covers all phases of concern, including site investigation and characterization, remedial engineering, regulatory support, and operation and maintenance of cleanup systems.

In addition to site liabilities, we assist clients with water resource identification, saltwater intrusion into groundwater, and litigation support. We have supported groundwater efforts at some of the nation’s most complex hydrogeologic sites, including the Department of Energy’s Nevada test site, Savannah River site, and Love Canal. Our experts have published widely in industry journals and authored government guidance documents

Groundwater Modeling

Tetra Tech’s groundwater modeling services support site characterization activities, water resource evaluations, remedial design, mine pit dewatering, geostatistical analysis, and database formulation. We expedite remediation and closure using modeling tools.

Our innovative approach includes integrating modeling with GIS databases to focus data collection, developing combined groundwater-surface water models, and employing optimization techniques for well placement and pumpage. We also assist our clients with emerging regulatory policies and guidance, including the using risk-based corrective action, negotiating technical impracticability waivers, evaluating monitored natural attenuation, and developing alternate concentration limits where appropriate.

Water Supply Development

Increasing demand for water has created the need to efficiently manage groundwater resources to provide a continuous, economically feasible water supply for domestic, agricultural, and manufacturing uses. Tetra Tech’s breadth of technical knowledge, international geographic reach, and portfolio allow us to provide clear solutions for our clients’ water and the environmental needs.

Tetra Tech supports our clients with watershed management planning, conjunctive use planning, and groundwater aquifer recharge programs. We provide large-scale mapping, watershed and estuary modeling, and regional studies. Our experienced teams design integrated surface and groundwater management plans to efficiently manage waters, maximize current water supply, evaluate long-term water supply for planning purposes, and monitor water quality.
