On the 40th anniversary of Earth Day in 2010, Tetra Tech formalized its Sustainability Program to improve sustainability throughout its projects, procurement, and internal processes and champion the efforts of its people through employee-supported activities and volunteer work. Tetra Tech has long focused on providing its clients with expert sustainable solutions in the water, environment, infrastructure, resource management, energy, and international development sectors.

Tetra Tech established a Sustainability Council and Workgroup to help coordinate and track its Sustainability Program, oversee development of an annual corporate Sustainability Report Card, and support communication of best practices across the Company. The Council is made up of representatives from relevant corporate departments and led by Tetra Tech’s Chief Sustainability Officer, Dr. Leslie Shoemaker.

Tetra Tech's Sustainability Program focuses on supporting the Company's mission to be a premier provider of consulting and engineering services focused on water, environment, infrastructure, resource management, energy, and international development.

We will achieve this mission by adopting a sustainability goal of embracing sustainability in our business and operations while supporting the Company in delivering excellent services to our clients, maintaining superior financial performance, and emphasizing safety in the execution of services.

The Sustainability Program is framed around sustainability in projects, procurement, processes, and people—our “4P” approach. This approach is incorporated into our Sustainability Program in terms of organization analysis and reporting. Our Program is based on the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Sustainability Reporting Framework, which includes three fundamental impact areas: environmental, economic, and social sustainability.
