The Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) selected Tetra Tech as the recipient of its 2016 SAME Large Business Award. The annual national award recognizes outstanding small business subcontracting performance in support of U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) programs, participation in the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Mentor-Protégé Program, employee training on supporting small business initiatives, and participation as a sponsor and exhibitor at small business conferences.

Tetra Tech received the award at the SAME Small Business Conference on November 18, 2016, in Atlanta, Georgia. Tetra Tech has been a SAME Sustaining Member Company since 1985, and more than 200 Tetra Tech employees maintain active membership at 48 SAME posts.

“At Tetra Tech—a large business with 16,000 employees worldwide—being an excellent partner and mentor to small business partner is consistent with our desire to lead with science and best serve our global customers,” says Janalla Roberts, who coordinates Tetra Tech’s Small Business and Partnerships Council. “Our small business partners tell us that they like working with Tetra Tech because we treat them with respect, listen to and value their input, and support them to become prime contractors on their own.”
