Traffic engineering, design, and review services for the MassDOT Highway Division

Tetra Tech is providing statewide on-call traffic engineering, design, and review services for the MassDOT Highway Division. We are currently fulfilling our third consecutive, three-year contract for services including traffic sign and safety improvements along Interstate, U.S. and state-numbered highways, the installation of new traffic and guide signs, guard rail protection, intelligent transportation systems (ITS) and other driver information systems.

Tetra Tech is also managing two On-call Statewide Engineering Design and Review Services contracts. To date, the contracts have totaled 15 separate assignments including:

• Roadway design improvements in Barnstable, Brockton, and Orleans
• Early action design activities for the I-93/Methuen Rotary Interchange and the I-95 Add-a-Lane/Whittier Bridge Replacement Project
• Expedited design for traffic signal improvements in Fairhaven
• Interchange improvements in Bellingham
• Completion of 40 PS&E quality control reviews for bridge, highway, park-n-ride, and emergency repair projects within one year

With an emphasis on safety and thorough yet timely completion of assigned projects, Tetra Tech’s experienced staff of professional planners, engineers, and scientists provide a valuable resource for the MassDOT Highway Division. Among the work completed under these contracts are function design reports, preliminary and final design plans; PS&E Quality Control Reviews; conceptual design plans, analysis, and assessment; permitting and upfront work (NEPA, EA, IJR, and other); data collection and traffic simulation modeling; and design of traffic and guide signs.
