Manitoba Hydro Engineering and Environmental Services

Tetra Tech, through its subsidiary Wardrop, A Tetra Tech Company, has Master Services Agreements (MSAs) to provide engineering services for electrical, mechanical, civil, and sewer and water services to Manitoba Hydro’s Engineering Services Division. We also have an MSA to provide environmental assessments and permitting services to Manitoba Hydro’s Transmission Planning and Design Division.

 

Services provided include:

  • Full project management services
  • Feasibility study with cost estimates
  • Preliminary geotechnical and topographical field surveys
  • Detailed preliminary and final design services
  • Detailed construction drawings and on-site supervision
  • Development of commissioning procedures, on-site commissioning of systems, and construction review
  • Environmental licensing submissions
  • Contract administration assistance

 

Jenpeg Generating Station Sewage System
Tetra Tech provided environmental, geotechnical, and municipal engineering services for the Jenpeg Generating Station Wastewater Treatment project. Tetra Tech obtained environmental approvals, completed detailed designs, and supplied resident engineering services for the decommissioning of an existing wastewater treatment plant and the construction of a lift station, force main, and upgrade of the existing lagoon.

 

Dorsey to Portage 230 kV Line Environmental Impact Assessment
Tetra Tech submitted to obtain environmental approvals for a new transmission line from Dorsey Station to Portage South Station. The Project includes a new 70-km, 230-kV AC transmission line; two rail crossings, two water crossings, and numerous power line crossings; and two special structures to cross under existing line D12P. Route selection for the anticipated 15 meter expansion of the right-of-way will require review and possible public consultation under Manitoba’s Environment Act.

 

Shamattawa Diesel Generating Station
Tetra Tech provided conceptual, preliminary and detailed designs for a 3.2-MW prime power diesel generating station in Shamattawa, Manitoba. The project also involved the construction of three 1 200 000-L API fuel storage tanks, a containment area and an off loading station. Tetra Tech provided project management services and on-site supervision. We completed detailed designs and specifications for the powerhouse structure, heat recovery, Ventilation, PLC SCADA system, and diesel generators.
