
Delivering creative traffic solutions in a complex urban environment Burgin Parkway is a major gateway to downtown Quincy, Massachusetts, linking the historic city with Interstate Route 93, Route 128, and Route 3. At its signalized intersection with Centre Street, Burgin Parkway also provides access to a public transit station and an office park.
Tetra Tech developed a creative solution to enhance access/egress for the office park and mitigate traffic exiting the city via the Route 3/Burgin Parkway Interchange, thereby creating a safer highway facility. With overwhelming public support and MassDOT endorsement of our proposed improvements, Tetra Tech served as Program Manager for highway/traffic and permitting services.

Tetra Tech prepared complex traffic management plans and provided drainage system modifications, grading, detention basin design, and utility coordination. Our firm helped move this fast-track project through the Transportation Improvement Program process, providing presentation and document support to advocate the project to the Boston Metropolitan Planning Organization.
